Responsive: Orion Creative Competition Boards

I spent an afternoon producing this brief and it's probably apparent.
Orion asked for second year illustration students (oddly specific) to submit a design for one of three titles.
I chose 'Some Kind Of Fairy Tale' as I enjoyed the concept of the book, a modern interpretation of fairy abduction; although I obviously didn't have time to read the whole thing. Nor did I have the opportunity to produce design concepts for the other two titles in the competition.

The brief vaguely suggested the designs should appeal to those who would likely read the book. Without making too many generalisations, the book is probably intended to be read by younger women or teens as the book is a more mature progression from the fairytale and fantasy genre. The previous covers for the book would seemingly support this, thus I have developed a design that is more gender neutral... if such a thing is possible.

The submission process involved emailing the design to a seemingly automated account, although I have received no correspondence since I sent my design

Proposing that my work could be applied onto t-shirts and iPhone cases has become a design crutch. Although it is technically valid as an idea it seems to belittle the consideration of range.
