Responsive: Orion Publishing

The brief asks specifically for second year illustration students to complete and submit designs for one of three book covers.

The titles are as follows:

'Sophie's World' by Jostein Gaarder

'Some Kind of Fairy' Tale by Graham Joyce

'Best Knickers Always' by Rebecca Perkins

Participants may only submit one design.

The design should comply to B format (129mm wide and 198mm), which is the standard paperback scale.

I also desired to produce some loose drawings after the rigour involved with making the western posters.

The book I have chosen is 'Some Kind of Fairy Tale', from what little I have read it seems like a good modern interpretation of classic fairy tales (the kind that feature fairies).

Although the obvious option, I find that imagery of classic British woodland best suits the theme.
