Moving Pictures: Final Animations

The Man in the Brown Suit from Adam Allsuch Boardman on Vimeo.

After a good amount of testing I eventually settled on the use of a title card instead of the inconsistency that fading text presented. I was also glad to make use of the vector window designs and art deco boarding that I created a good while ago.

I find that 'The Man in the Brown Suit' is one of the more successful of the animations. The sound is particularly well suited for the visual content, and the animation is probably the most noticeable, compared to the restraint present in the others.

The Sittaford Mystery from Adam Allsuch Boardman on Vimeo.

This animation was two seconds shorter than the others due to the problematic snow, which caused a large amount of slow-down during the animation process and rendering. This is due to my method of piling multiple smart layers of animated snow, which was apparently problematic for the computers to process.

Murder on the Orient Express from Adam Allsuch Boardman on Vimeo.

I was highly pleased with the final visuals of this animation. It is perhaps the most obvious of the animations that are linked to the five prints.

Death on the Nile from Adam Allsuch Boardman on Vimeo.

This is my least favourite of the animations, as it is particularly dry and noticeably digital. The visual concept of this animation was changed at the last minute, meaning the artwork did not benefit from the levels of development that the others benefitted from.

Evil Under the Sun from Adam Allsuch Boardman on Vimeo.

I find the distorted audio of 'I do like to be beside the seaside' is the most successful use of sound in any of the animations, it is particularly haunting.
