Selecting 'Split Channels' will convert the channels into separate gray-scale images.
The correct bitmap and halftone settings are as follows:

One may separate flattened imagery using the colour range selection.
The new channel must be named something other than for example: 'Red' or 'Green', as these are existing names used within the channels, instead it is better to call a channel 'Red Spot' etc...
When selecting a colour range, Photoshop tends to form a gap between distinct colours, which may prove problematic in screen printing. To avoid this, expand the selection, which will cause a slight over-lap.
Through modification of the existing CYMK and colour range selections, one may eventually arrive at a decent amount of spot channels.
Command & Click will select all information on a transparent layer.
