Applied Illustration: Visual Development

Following on from investigations into ligne claire, I have developed vague portraits of Eugene Bullard, the WW1 pilot.

I am unsatisfied with the results, however and wish to limit the the palette further.

I find that it is somewhat difficult to produce portraits in profile, especially when the reference imagery of historical figures is limited.
