Applied Illustration: More Card Designs

I am somewhat satisfied with how the designs are progressing. However I have reservations in regards to their lack of distinction. While I have emulated the uniformity of playing cards, I find that the designs are repetitive and potentially confusing. 

I may be forced to abandon the concept of constraining the pilots to a profile pose, as this similarity is largely responsible for the in-distinction.

The latter design is closer to the aesthetic I desire, as the background pattern is not too intricate, and thus does not lose detail at the scale of a playing card.
