Aircraft of World War 1

TAYLOR, John, 1963, Aircraft of World War 1, London, Longacre Press

This fantastically aged book contains high quality photographic documentation of planes from WW1. Each spread details in the technological specifications of each plane, including weapons, engines etc.

I have obviously found this book incredibly useful as a reference tool, not only visually, but there are several interesting history insights.

The writer, John W. R. Taylor was an expert in aviation, and was later employed to analyse blurred images taken of Soviet Aircraft. Taylor frequently refers to the heavy influence of Anthony Fokker during the race to establish air superiority, his famous Monoplane drastically outclassed Allied fighter planes in a time often referred to as the 'Fokker Scourge'.

I have scanned selected pages from the book for later reference; I may fully document the book in future as the page binding is extremely weak. I have refrained from adjusting the channels to improve the white balance, as much of the charm in the book comes from it's aged appearance.
