Moving Pictures: Text

During this session we discussed our planned use of type within our short animations. I had a specific idea of how I wished to make minimal use of type; a fade in of the book title at the end of the animation.

The animations I am creating will make use of fixed static type. The type will exist in the same space compositionally in every animation, being the centre top portion of the screen.

For example the text will simply read:

Agatha Christie's
The Man in the Brown Suit

Obviously the title will be changed for the books appropriately.

During a recent peer review I received some helpful suggestions for reference imagery.
The first example is the intro for the ITV production of Agatha Christie's Poirot.

I found it difficult to find animations or films which make use of text in a similar static way,
the embedded .gif below does somewhat relate to my concept.
