After Effects Workshop [4]

Notes from the Session:

Footage may be divided by selecting Edit -> Split Layer

Files may be renamed in batch using Automator or Adobe Bridge.

The shy switch is used to hide layers for organisation purposes.

This switch toggles the quality of individual layers.

Motion blur may be enabled to extenuate the impression of movement.

Solid layers may be appropriated as adjustment layers to apply effects to multiple layers.
As a layer, it may also be manipulated using transformations etc.

Enabling auto-orient will adjust the rotation of an object to follow the path in a more realistic manner.

Ease Out Introduces a resistance to a transformation effect, creating the impression of acceleration. Similarly Ease In creates the impression of deceleration.

These settings may be reset by making the keyframe's temporal interpolation linear

Hold keyframe will cut the interpolation process; for example a moving square will 'teleport' rather than move listlessly.

The sound formats that are compatible with After Effects are:

.mp3

.aiff

.wav
