Visual Narratives: The Book

Below are a selection of pages from the book, ultimately I was pleased with the general look and feel of the book. Having being displeased by the quality produced by the studio's laser printer, I chose to use a moderately thick matt paper, printed using a reprographics inkjet printer. The quality was of a tangible higher quality and much more forgiving when handling.

The arrangement was orchestrated by indesign, which I found most useful.
The program requires considerations such as grouping the page imagery into a single folder, saving all imagery as either .psd or .tiff and ensuring that the imagery is the exact size as intended.
For reference, here are the notes I made during the session:
 InDesign Workshop Notes

.Print Booklet option within the file menu ->
.Setup -> Booklet Type ->
.Default = 2-up Saddle Stitch etc…

.Print Settings -> General ->
.'Print Blank Pages' - Otherwise InDesign will ignore pages devoid of content
.Setup -> Select larger Paper Size to allow for bleed etc
.Select the orientation of the pages within the spread
.Scale 100%
.Use Document Bleed Settings
.Marks -> Crop marks

.Printer…
-Short Edge Binding
-Long Edge Binding

Saddle Bind

LEFT | RIGHT
    8     |    1
    2     |    7
    6     |    3
    4      |    5

Binding will effect page size, layout etc

Consider type of printer, paper.
Laser printers exclusively use the generic 80 gram paper.
Inkjet printers require the user to manually feed the paper for double-sided designs, but can print on a large variety of stocks.
