Visual Narratives: Study Task 2 (5 Questions)

For this task we were given the opportunity to explore 5 questions or lines of enquiry:

It is apparent by the muddled and broad ideas that I was quite conflicted. During the group tutorials it transpired that the most popular idea concerned the mysterious 6th floor of the Royal Armouries.
Unfortunately this idea was based upon my own speculation, it elapsed that there was in-fact no such 6th floor.

In reflection I have decided that I should venture on in the spirit of the idea; to instead investigate mysterious and hidden locations.
During peer conversations I realised the vast amount of follies and architectural oddities which populate the local area. I found the speculation of the purpose and histories of these structures to be most intriguing. I hope to visit a prime example of a curiosity during the week.

In revision I hope to answer the following more focussed questions in my further research:

.Do follies have a purpose?
.Why do many follies appear to have been made in a similar era?
.What is so curious about architectural follies?
.How has time treated different follies?
.Are follies simply a venture in vanity?
