Visual Skills: Studio Brief 3 (Resolutions)
For the final imagery I chose to use facsimiles of the wood polish texture by scanning and reprinting them to 1:1 scale. This was a result of the wood polish being a fairly hazardous and awkward material to work into for any length of time. Though the colour is somewhat faded and the texture has been flattened I was most pleased with the result and it still passes as genuine without close scrutiny.
I was however displeased with the visual quality of the Pandas. During this brief I struggled to satisfactorily present them. I would argue that I should have undergone more exhaustive study using reference rather than relying on a fleeting understanding.
The colour scheme worked quite well, the black and white upon a textured brown surface is somehwat denotative of eastern woodcuts as I had intended.
