Visual Language: Sketchbooks

In this session we were encouraged to constantly use our sketchbooks to explore and develop visual ideas. For example, they are great places to test materials and method, in the landscape image below I used acrylic paint which I am not at all comfortable with. By using a limited palette I wanted to emulate a sickly green hue associated with pollution and disease. I rather think the image is quite successful, however the thick application of wet media has distorted the cartridge paper of the sketchbook paper, an so I shall know next time to use a ticker surface.
