SB3 - Guardian Brief

This brief requires illustration students to produce three images based around the activities of the college. There is no particular reward, beyond the honour of appearing on the Guardian website.
I have not engaged in many editorial briefs during this degree, and would like to take this opportunity to do so.
The three topics of discussion are:

  • Creating a perfect portfolio
  • Careers in the arts and creative industries
  • The revival of crafts and analogue methods in a world if digital advancements
The brief reminds entrants that they do not to be particularly literal in their responses, although that is my preferred way of operating.

This is the sort of brief that can be completed relatively quickly, which is handy because the deadline is the 7th of October. I would look into extending this brief after the deadline, perhaps by creating additional responses based on the other activities and facilities around college.

I have put some thought into how this could extend into a larger product:

. An updated and detailed college map with illustrations of facilities
. Applications to promotional / Union materials
. Potential individual publication about the LCA
