Applied Illustration: makeplayingcards.com

Finding a site to outsource the playing card printing was quite frustrating. I had to find printers that could work with my specifications:

. Customised designs on both sides (most simply offer users to make a pack of cards with the back customised)
. Bridge sized
. Broad choice of stocks
. Relatively quick turn around and delivery
. Online uploading system
. Uniform prices (other services had ignored my request for a quote)

Most services are catered for bulk-orders, for the use of business promotion. It seemed that I was ignored for wanting a single deck of cards, which is quite understandable.

After days of searching I narrowed the choice to MPC, who I was initially put-off by due to their printing factory being based in China. However it soon became clear that they had the most felxible service with many customisable features.

The cost of the order was relatively cheap, however the shipping fees were somewhat astonishing.

Upon arrival I found the quality of stock and image highly impressive. In future I will certainly order additional packs for self-promotion and as cheap gifts.
