Applied Illustration: Tuck Box Reference

Bicycle have produced high quality playing cards for more than 100 years and frequently produce specialised editions based on a variety of themes.

Aesthetically, the tuck boxes are highly symmetrical and appropriate the motifs present throughout the deck.

The stock is a relatively thin satin card, often decorated with embossing or foil.

The colouration, much like the cards is limited to allow for the use of spot colours, thus ensuring uniformity across the products and indeed, reducing production costs.

Although my initial topic for the module was 'character and narrative' I now find myself more preoccupied with format and packaging. At this stage in development I wish to get the most out of the many designs I have created throughout development, by creating a range of products.
