The visit was characterised by rain and the constant sound of a near-by track-day event, which sounded eerily like the drone of plane engines. Through out the museum there were roughly forty visitors, mostly families and the elderly. Teens and young adults seemed lacking, with the exception of cafeteria staff, who appeared to be RAF cadets judging by their buzz-cuts.

Applied Illustration: Visit to the Yorkshire Air Museum
During the weekend I visited the Yorkshire Air Museum for primary research purposes. One of the characteristics of aircraft I wish to convey is their seemingly gravity-defying mass. This bulky quality is often lost when planes are drawn or photographed. Thus, through my investigations in the visual journal I wish to to communicate the weighty-machine element of planes.
