Summer 10 [Developments]

In the second day of development I tested some of the initial ideas involving what henchmen or goons might get up to when not engaging in professional activities.
The image above shows 8 of them waiting for the bus. I attempted to keep the structure of the bus stop minimal, so that it might not distract from the composition of the goons.
For the first time, I used a mixture of black and white pens on a discoloured surface. The outcome created a sort of tonal aspect of the figures, making them more genuine and three dimensional.
This proved most interesting as working in black alone often requires a much heavier use of line and shading to suggest tone, while using the white could highlight areas bathed in light easily... much as I would use black to highlight shadow.
