Visual Language: Texture

I felt that the pursuit with ink and brush that I had undergone whilst investigating shape was equally applicable to texture.

Using a small stencil I created a textural image of the well known 'here's Johnny' scene from the Shining. This allowed me to liberally apply messy pen lines whilst staying within a fixed shape.

While before I had used rigorous application of masking tape to create temporary stencils I now felt confident enough with a large brush to create studies. I combined the feathered forms of the brush with fine liners to create several studies.  

Though not strictly within the theme of texture I created an Invisible Man costume so that I might attend the upcoming Thought Bubble convention. I did however use the imagery to produce some digital work, using the scanned texture of the bandage.
